Activities Of The Centre :
1. Literary Competitions to Students:-
With a view to perpetuate the ideas and thought of Mahatma Gandhi, the centre has been organizing essay writing, elocution and debate competitions on Gandhi from Grade 7th students to Post Graduate students in and around Narsapur town. As a part of this we conducted essay writing competitions to Grade 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th Students of Narsapur Mandal on 30-09-2007 and distributed prizes and certificates to the winners and participants on 2nd October, 2006. Nearly 100 students were participated in these competitions.
We also conducted Essay Writing, Debate and Elocution competitions for Inter, Degree and PG students of our college on 27-12-2007 and distributed prizes and certificates to the winners and participants on 1st December, 2006 on the dais of National Seminar on Gandhiji. Nearly 150 students participated in all these literary competitions on Gandhiji.
2. Photo Exhibitions on Gandhiji:
We purchased 100 photos on Gandhiji from birth to death of Mahatma Gandhi and conducted photo exhibition from 2nd October to 5th October, 2006 in our college. Students of schools and colleges and also public in and around Narsapur availed the opportunity.
On the occasion of the National Seminar on "Gandhi and Rural Development" held on 1st December, 2006 we also conducted photo exhibition for delegates and public who attended from different places of Andhra Pradesh.
On the occasion of the Gandhiji's death anniversary on 30-01-2007, we conducted photo exhibition from 30-01-2007 to 31-01-2007, in a remote village called Turputallu, with a view to recollect the sacrifices made by Gandhiji to rural youth. On the same occasion, in collaboration with Vasavi Club, Turputallu, we conducted quiz competition on Gandhiji Photos and distributed prizes and certificates to winners.
3. National Seminar on "Gandhi and Rural Development":
National Seminar on Gandhi and Rural Development was oraganized on 1st December, 2006 in our college. Prof.V.Bala Mohandas, Vice-Chancellor of Nagarjuna University, Guntur inaugurated the seminar. Prof.A.Prasanna Kumar,Andhra University, Prof.G.Hara Gopal, Central University, Prof.Bijoyani Mohanthy, Utkal University, Prof.Sivanna, ISEC, Bangalore, Sri Ch.V.P.Murthy Raju, Freedom Fighter and Ex-Minister, Dr.B.S.N.Murty, Senior Journalist and Freedom Fighter of Narsapur attended to the seminar. Around 200 delegates attended and participated in discussions and deliberations on Gandhiji in the seminar. The seminar was organized in four sessions and 59 papers were presented by the Professors, Lecturers and experts on Gandhian Thought. This seminar created an interest about the relevance of Gandhiji to the present society to the students and public.
4. Guest Lectures:
Since its inception, we have been organizing Guest Lectures on Gandhian Ideology and Thought. The Eminent Professors and experts on Gandhian Thought have given lectures.

5. Certificate Course in Gandhian Studies:
We started a three months Certificate Course in Gandhian Studies for our college students and enrolled 20 students. The syllabus to the course covers Gandhiji's political, economic, social philosophy and basic concepts. Classes are taken by well qualified and experienced faculty of PG courses. After the successful completion of the course certificates will be awarded to each student.
6.SURVEY AND RESEARCH:
As per the observations given by the UGC Expert Committee, we collected the data on Socio-Economic Conditions of Weavers and Handloom Workers in East and West Godavari Districts. In from 300 weaver families from Mori, Ambajipet, Pulletikurru, Bandaru Lanka, Achanta Vemavaram villages.
7.ORIENTATION PROGRAMMES:
We conducted Orientation Programmes on "Gandhian Ideology" to Teachers of Narsapur Mandal and Mogaltur Mandal. Recently we conducted one Orientation Programme to MPTCs and Village Sarpanches of Narsapur Mandal in Mandal Parishad building on 01-04-2007. Prof.G.Hara Gopal, University of Hyderabad has attended as Guest Speaker. On 15-04-2007 organized one more orientation programme on Gandhiji to LIC Agents of Narsapur Town.
